The Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) has decided to launch short training courses in agriculture, food preservation, civil technology, refrigeration and air conditioning, and information technology to train required manpower and eventually meet the growing demand of skilled manpower.
Tevta has also decided to evolve an efficient system to involve industry, agriculture and academia in the management of Tevta institutions with an objective to make full use of available technical and intellectual resources. This system will also help the authority form policies according to the demand of industry and implement these policies in letter and spirit.
These decisions were taken in the 21st meeting of Tevta with Mohsin Syed, newly-appointed authority chairman in the chair on Friday.
The authority deliberated and approved restructuring of organisational structure of Tevta and introduction of matric vocational for girls at 15 Tevta institutions across the province.
